Minister Wilkinson Tries to Defend Slow Action, Missed Targets

Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson appeared before the Natural Resources committee on May 18.

In particular, I wanted to know when the government would get serious about fighting lawsuits designed to shut down the critical Line 5 pipeline.

I also asked about the five Reports delivered by the Commissioner of the Environment that were highly critical of the government. In particular, the so-called "Just Transition" is nothing but words, spending millions of dollars to accomplish nothing. Does the government confuse "spending money" with "obtaining results for Canadians"?

I pressed the Minister on the department's habit of announcing targets but consistently missing them. He didn't like that question.
