Minister O'Regan: We Don't Have Enough Oil & Gas Workers

On June 1, I questioned Minister of Labour Seamus O'Regan about the so-called "Just Transition".

I asked why the government is transitioning good oil and gas jobs out of Canada by not taking advantage of the opportunity to export responsible oil and gas product to a world that will demand those products until at least 2040.

His response: we don't have enough workers in the energy sector!

In fact, since the Trudeau government came to power, we've lost 180,000 jobs in the industry and $200 Billion in capital projects. It isn't because Canadians don't want the skilled, well-paid jobs - it is because the government doesn't want the industry to flourish.
